Dr. David Adedayo Ajibade
Physician • Brain Health Pioneer • Global Health Leader • Founder, Brain and Body Foundation
Dr. David Ajibade is an internationally recognized physician, health innovator, and thought leader dedicated to transforming brain and body health across Africa, the USA, and beyond. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Brain and Body Foundation and Brain and Body Solutions, he has spent over two decades at the forefront of research, treatment, and public education on brain disorders, chronic diseases, and preventive health. His mission is twofold: to transform how brain disorders—such as dementia, autism, ADHD, stroke, and traumatic brain injury—are understood and treated, and to improve outcomes for individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease, one of Africa’s most urgent health challenges.
Dr. Ajibade’s groundbreaking work has influenced government health policies and programs, particularly in Nigeria, where his foundation has partnered with federal and state governments to successfully treat brain disorders in children and adults, as well as sickle cell disease, achieving results that are both unprecedented and scalable. His efforts have led to measurable improvements in survival rates and quality of life for vulnerable populations, especially children under five.
In recognition of his leadership, Dr. Ajibade has received multiple prestigious awards, including being named one of the “Most Influential Leaders in Health and Wellness to Watch.” His voice is increasingly shaping international conversations on brain health, preventive medicine, and the future of healthcare systems in the Global South. As a sought-after speaker, educator, and strategist, Dr. Ajibade regularly addresses audiences ranging from healthcare professionals to policy makers, faith leaders, and the general public. He is also spearheading continuing education courses for healthcare providers, focusing on brain health, dementia prevention, and holistic care strategies, both virtually and in person.
A frequent speaker at global summits, medical conferences, and media platforms, Dr. Ajibade is recognized for his ability to make neuroscience accessible and actionable. His holistic approach—anchored in what he calls the “Laws of Life” (nutrition, sleep, movement, stress management, and purpose)—resonates deeply with healthcare professionals and the public alike.
Dr. Ajibade combines deep medical knowledge with a passion for communication, leadership development, and movement-building. His mission is clear: to reverse the rising tide of brain disorders, empower communities with science-backed solutions, and reshape the future of brain health on a global scale.
Focus on Low Cost, Easily Accessible Solutions:
Growing up, receiving his medical training, and practicing medicine in a developing country gave Dr. Ajibade a perspective few in his field possess. From an early age, he witnessed the harsh realities families face with little or no access to quality healthcare. This experience shaped his lifelong commitment to developing health solutions that are practical, affordable, and adaptable to low-resource settings, while remaining rooted in cutting-edge science.
Brain Health & Dementia
Through Brain and Body Solutions (USA), Dr. Ajibade offers personalized brain health recovery programs for individuals and families worldwide. His clinical and research work integrates conventional medicine with nutritional neuroscience, metabolic health, and functional diagnostics. His focus is on preventing cognitive decline, improving recovery after brain injury, and optimizing lifelong brain performance. He is also the creator of continuing education (CE)-accredited brain health courses for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, social workers and other professional healthcare workers. These include Brain 101, Dementia 101, Dementia’s Dirty Dozen, Why Women Have It Worse, and If Your Brain Could Speak. These courses translate complex neuroscience into clear, actionable strategies and equip clinicians with cognitive assessment tools, patient resources, and practical interventions.
Sickle Cell Disease
Through the Brain and Body Foundation (Nigeria), Dr. Ajibade is a passionate advocate for children and families affected by sickle cell disease. His team partners with hospitals, government ministries, and NGOs to provide nutritional protocols, clinical support, and public health education. He is pursuing one of the most ambitious goals in African public health today: to reduce the under-5 mortality rate in sickle cell disease from 75% to 10%.
This pioneering work includes community-driven interventions, clinical research, and family-centered care—but most importantly, the development of nutrient formulations that have been shown to significantly improve the quality of life of children diagnosed with this disorder. Outcomes include reduced frequency and severity of crises, increased energy, fewer complications, and reduced time away from school—helping patients not just survive, but thrive.
Military Service and united nations Work
A military veteran with service-connected experience (enlisted in the army in 1983), Dr. Ajibade has worked with the Nigerian Army hospital system to address PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and mood disorders among servicemen and women. His deep understanding of physical and psychological trauma and its effect on the brain and body informs his unique perspective at the intersection of neuroscience, resilience, and performance optimization.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Ajibade also served as a consultant to the United Nations Foundation, where he helped draft Nigeria’s first comprehensive eHealth strategy in partnership with the Ministries of Health and Communication Technology.

Core Belief and Message
Dr. Ajibade’s career is defined by his conviction that healing is possible when science, compassion, and strategy come together. Whether in the fight against dementia or the battle to save children with sickle cell disease, his goal remains the same: to build a movement that redefines health and radically improves lives across the globe.
Of all racial groups, African Americans have the highest risk of dementia (twice as high as whites in the USA; four times as high in the UK). Relatively little is being done to highlight this fact, and even less is being done to educate the black community on the subject.
Dr. Ajibade’s knowledge and experience positions him to be the voice of dementia and the Black community. His ability to engage with, explain, offer and demonstrate practical solutions to this demographic can help reduce the risk of contracting Alzheimer’s dementia or a related disease, while actually improving brain health. To date, we are not aware of any medical doctors or health practitioners who are black and who are actively involved in educating the black community on dementia and what can be done about it. We know of nobody who is actively out in the field, promoting brain health for and among African Americans. By using local, regional, and national speaking platforms, coupled with various digital and media platforms, we can reach tens of millions in the black community to get the word out about these brain-related diseases, and hopefully reduce our significant risk of developing these conditions.
I invite you to be a part of this mission by supporting my work, inviting me for speaking engagements, or collaborating on healthcare initiatives.
